Why we made it
I needed a password manager, for myself and for the people I share things with. I wanted it done the way I think it should be done: encrypted before anything leaves my device, hosted in the EU, with the paperwork a company needs already in place, and an interface I actually like looking at. So I built one. PineKey is that vault, opened up for anyone who wants the same.
What PineKey is
Each person has a private vault. A family or a team adds shared vaults for the things several people need: the Wi-Fi, the supplier portal, the streaming account. You decide who opens what, and everyone keeps a private vault of their own.
Vault contents are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers. Your master password unlocks the keys locally and is not sent to us. The application and the vault database run in the EU.
What it costs
Free covers one organisation with up to three people, with a shared vault. Pro is 14.90 EUR a month for a team of up to ten, VAT included where it applies, and 1.90 EUR a month for each extra person up to 25. A free team never becomes a paid one by itself.
In short
- Private vault for each person, shared vaults for the group
- Encrypted on your device, hosted in the EU
- Free for up to three people
- A public status page and a DPA on every plan
